Librarian’s Note: Shortly after I posted the ‘Best of the Moon 2008‘, I received an e-mail from M. Legrand, who was dismayed that I didn’t have his book in the Selenography section of the Lunar Library. I noted that I hadn’t seen it in the local bookboxes, and turns out they’re just not stocking it here in the metroplex.

They should, because it is a great book for folks that just got a telescope for the International Year of Astronomy and want to use it to look at our Moon. The presentation and layout make it usable down to about middle school age, maybe a bit younger. A superbe beginner’s text.

M. LeGrand also brings us an online guide to the Moon at the Virtual Moon Atlas.
